Site Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Preferred:  AAS Degree in Child Development (or General Studies)

Experience Required:  College Course in Social Work or Relevant

3 + years experience managing a child care facility and/or  in a supervisory capacity

SUPERVISION: Under the direct supervision of the Director.

Assist in management functions that support the overall goal of school readiness for children enrolled while maintaining compliance with Child Care Licensing standards.

Must be able to work well with others and provide fair, applicable supervision to all staff.

SKILLS NEEDED:

  • Responsive to the needs of young children
  • Able to communicate with children and adults from all ethnic, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Good writing skills and the ability to write reports and documented materials as necessary.
  • Punctual and demonstrate good attendance.
  • Courteous, cooperative, respectful of confidentiality, and professional with children, parents, and staff.
  • Dress appropriately for the job, i.e. wear clean clothes, practice good hygiene, and wear footwear that minimizes the possibility of slips and falls.
  • Represent the program in a positive and professional manner at all times.

 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  1. Support in the Management of performance of all center-based staff.
    1. This includes regular feedback on work performance, implementation of classroom curricula, written annual evaluations of performance, appropriate use of disciplinary procedures, and the development and monitoring of performance improvement plans as necessary.
    2. Meet the needs of the children in the center.
    3. Serve as liaison between ISD principal and the  Director.
    4. Attend all required staff development and faculty meetings.
    5. Monitor activities of staff to ensure compliance with HSPPS, state licensing requirements, and ISD policies and procedures.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    ******************************************************
  1. Submit weekly reports, time cards, leave sheets, etc in a timely, and efficient manner
  2. Collect bi-weekly personnel activity reports
  3. Submit monthly reports, when due. (PIR, monthly financials, attendance to ERSEA coordinator, etc..)
  4. Attend management meetings
  5. Observe classrooms
  6. Monitor student/staff attendance
  7. Consult w/parents as necessary
  8. Prepare staff evaluations, bi-annually
  9. Maintain staff folders
  10. Conduct/facilitate weekly/monthly staff meetings
  11. Attend parent meetings
  12. Work w/parent involvement coordinator
  13. Ensure licensing/permit requirements are up to date
  14. Compile/submit in-kind weekly

Work with all content areas to ensure the implementation of comprehensive Head Start services.

  1. Implement, monitor, and evaluate use of curricula.
  2. Observe classroom activities on a regular basis and provide feedback.  Assist teaching staff with appropriate classroom management.
  3. Collaborate with center staff to implement parent involvement and community outreach activities.
  4. Work with center-based staff to increase parent knowledge, skills and understanding of child growth and development.
  5. Assist the FSW staff in eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment and attendance (ERSEA) at the Center.
  6. Make home visits as needed.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to relate well with people, work independently with low-income families, access the social services available in the community, must be able to drive to various agencies in the community, as well as work at a desk for periods of time.

OTHER:

Comply with licensing standards.  Have a clean criminal background check.  Actively participate in all required training sessions.  Report signs of possible child abuse and neglect.
